1. Micromax Yu Yureka:
Rewind your thoughts back to last year and think of which was the best phone to buy under 10,000 Rs then. If you can recall it correctly you will find out that it was the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2. The Micromax Yu Yureka!!! This phone has completely revolutionized the 10,000 Rs segment. A year earlier you wouldn’t have got the phone with this specs and quality even at 25,000 Rs.
So, let’s take a look at the phone. It is powered by a 64-bit Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor which is immensely powerful. It has got 2 GB RAM, which makes the phone capable of handling heavy gaming and multi-tasking very smoothly. It runs on the CyanogenMod 11, which gives you tons of extra features & capabilities. It has got a pretty large 5.5 inches screen which is even protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen has 720 x 1280 pixels resolution which gives 267 ppi pixel density which is decent at this price. Another important thing is that it has got great picture quality with the 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras. It is good on storage also, it comes with 16 GB internal memory (12.5 GB user accessible) which can be expanded upto 32 GB. With the 2500 mAH Li-ion Battery the phone is good on battery too.
Overall, with good specs, great camera, excellent build quality and best gaming experience, it is undoubtedly the best phone to buy under 10,000 Rs.

The Micromax Yu Yureka is the best but for those who find it very large, this is the perfect phone for this price range. In July 2014, Asus launched the new Zenfone series of phones. And at this price segment we have got the Asus Zenfone 5.
It has got the 1.6 GHz Intel dual core processor with 2 GB RAM which delivers exceptional performance and good multi-tasking. The 5 inches HD screen and the display is very good, it has also got the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. One more thing I loved about the phone is, it has increased display sensitivity so you can use the phone even while wearing gloves, this is great for winter season. The phone’s design is sleek and beautiful. It has got good camera and it runs on the Android Kitkat. This phone comes with two storage option 8 GB and 16 GB while both come with the expandable storage. Okay, now one thing I felt could have been better is the phone’s UI, it runs on Asus’s own ZenUI which is good but it can be made even more good-looking. The battery life of the phone is not too good but, its acceptable
Overall this phone has got most of the things right and gives a balanced user experience at this price.

This is the 3rd launch of Xiaomi in the Indian Smartphone market and it is yet again a promising Xiaomi smartphone.
It runs on the Quad Core 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor and 2 GB of RAM which delivers pretty good and fast performance. It sports a big 5.5 inches screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 267 ppi pixel density, well it’s not great but its good for 10000 Rs. It has got big numbers for the cameras. It features a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera, the camera quality is good for the price. The 3100 mAh gives a very good battery backup to the phone. The phone weighs 199 grams and is surely on the heavier side but it packs big screen and big battery so its justified.
Overall, it offers pretty balanced equations with good performance, decent build quality and good battery and can be a very good buying choice at this budget but, if you want a dual sim phone stay away from it.
Huawei (no. 2 in China) is now a more serious player in the Indian smartphone market. It has launched very exciting phones in many ranges. And the most recent is the Honor 4X which is launched at the 10,000 Rs. price range and competes directly with the Micromax Yureka YU and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G.
The phone packs very exciting specifications. It runs on the 64-bit Quad Core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM, which gives good performance and handles most of the tasks effectively. Still, if you need a phone for gaming, it will be good to go with the Yureka YU. It has the 5.5 inches screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution same as the Yureka YU and the Redmi Note and as I said for the two phones, it is not great but its acceptable considering the overall features at this price. The design of the phone is simple but it feels good, the textured back panel of the phone gives a very good grip. It has got 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras and both the cameras are good. The USP of the phone is that it has Dual Sim and both the Sim can support 4G LTE. It has got 8 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. It sports a 3000 mAh battery which delivers very good battery backup.
Overall, it is a good phone and can be a good alternative to Yureka YU and Redmi Note.
This is a good phone in this range which comes with 5.5 inches screen and 2 GB RAM. The newly launched Lenovo A7000 is the successor of popular budget 4G smartphone Lenovo A6000 and directly competes with the Yureka YU, Redmi Note & Honor 4X.
The Lenovo A7000 features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display, it runs on Octa-core MediaTek MT6752m processor clocked at 1.5 GHz coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The performance of the phone is very good, and the benchmark score suggest its performance is better than the other 3 phones mentioned above. When it comes to camera, it sports an 8 MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera, well it’s decent but it should have been 13 MP like the competition. Internal storage of the smartphone is 8 GB, which is expandable via micro SD card up to 32 GB. A great thing in the phone is, it comes with “Android 5.0 Lollipop” running Lenovo’s Vibe UI on top of it. Another USP of the Lenovo A7000 is the “Dolby Atmos support” which offers the similar level of sound that you hear in a theatre. It is backed by a 2900 mAh battery, which gives good battery life. It supports Dual Sim and 4G.
Overall, it’s a good phone and can be a good choice, and if you specifically want phone for music & videos, it will be the best choice. If you want best battery life the new Lenovo A5000 with 4000 mAh battery will be the best choice in this budget, the Lenovo S850 with 13 MP is also available at this price.
