iPhone 6C Photo Leaked on Apple's Website

Apple might have accidentally or deliberately leaked the rumored iPhone 6C in its own official website.

The Cupertino tech giant uploaded a photo of what seems to be an iPhone 5C on a Lightning Dock, which was supposed to be the highlight of the image. The pictured phone had a plastic body.

However, a closer look reveals a major component that proves the phone is not an iPhone 5C. In the controversial photo, which has now been replaced, the smartphone in the image included the Apple TouchID tech on its home button.

iPhone 6c Confirmed?

Since the iPhone 5C does not have this feature, it can be concluded that this was another model from Apple, one that hasn't been released yet, the iPhone 6C, according to PC World. In addition, the shape resembled the 5S generation of iPhones, which has a smaller screen of four inches.

One possible reason why some Apple iPhone users refuse to upgrade to the new iPhone 6 is because of its size. A bigger screen means a bigger phone to hold, which can be troublesome during commutes as it can be uncomfortable to try and hold it for a long time.

There have been several rumors that say Apple is planning to launch three more iPhone models this year, including a less expensive one. It might have lower-end components compared to its predecessors to compensate with the price.

Apple seemed to have left the C line when it didn't release an iPhone 6c model last year. The tech giant may have targeted its loyal fans first before its customers who are on a strict budget.

If Apple follows its own pattern, the iPhone 6c might be revealed or even launched on late September this year. The company did not comment on the supposed leak, according to Mirror. Since Apple did not deny that it was the rumored iPhone 6C, the chances of them releasing an actual product is now more likely.

iPhone 6c Specs and Features

The rumored specs and features on the iPhone 6C are not really mind boggling. An A8 processor might power the device, along with NFC capability to support the company's new Apple Pay ecosystem.

It might also have a new set of cameras both on the rear and the front. Several reports have claimed that Apple already placed orders for new camera components, which means that the company might not use the same cameras from the iPhone 5S.

One change for the rumored iPhone 6C is its glass screen. Several models have always sported sapphire glass for their displays, but the new phone might end up with Gorilla Glass. Add that to the fact that the new Apple Watch did not feature a sapphire glass because of its fragility.

To complement the Apple Pay support, the iPhone 6c might also have the TouchID technology. It was also one of the reasons why the "leaked" photo went viral. However, it might not have the Force Touch tech using the Taptic engine from the Apple Watch.
